This notice explains what Sphere collects when you use sphere.inc or a Sphere Card, why, and what you can ask of us.
1. Opening a certificate
When you open a certificate, our servers record the Nº requested, the time, and standard request details such as your network address and browser, as any website does, to keep the site secure and reliable. When you hold your phone to a Sphere Card, the card also sends a tap counter and signature that let us check it is the card we issued. We keep counts of taps per card. None of this identifies you by name.
2. Claiming a certificate in your name
If you claim a certificate, you give us your name, your email address and, if you choose, your phone number, together with your consent. We use them to record the claim, to show your first name and last initial on the certificate page, to answer your questions about the piece, and, with the consent you give when you claim, to write to you about Sphere and about pieces that may interest you. You can withdraw that consent at any time. Your full name, email and phone are never published and are visible only to the people who operate Sphere.
3. Sharing
Sphere is operated by Sphere. Your claim details are used by the Sphere team and, where needed to help with your order or a return, shared with the business that sold you the piece. We also share them with the providers that host and run the site for us, under instructions to use them for nothing else, and where the law requires. We do not sell your details.
4. Keeping and releasing
A claim stays on the certificate for as long as the certificate is current. If the piece is returned to the seller, the claim is released and your name is removed from the page. Released claims are kept only as long as needed for support and for our records, then deleted. Request logs are kept for a limited period for security.
5. Your choices
You can ask us at any time to see, correct or delete the details you gave when claiming, or to stop writing to you. Use the contact details at the foot of this page. Deleting your details releases the claim; the certificate itself stays, without your name.
6. Cookies
The site sets no tracking cookies and uses no advertising or analytics trackers.
